One of the most important decisions a person faces in a lifetime is buying and selling a home.

While the process is a major endeavor, the experience also can prove to be rewarding and fun. Some careful up-front work can help turn potential headaches into heart-warming memories. The first and most crucial task is to find an agent who is knowledgeable, sensitive and compatible and can offer the support and sound advice needed to help you sell your house quickly or find the home of your dreams.

Sounds like a tall order? Not really! There are a number of methods you should employ. One is to ask a friend. Another is to look at references, some of ours follow on the testimonials page.

Look for an agent who is familiar with the area. We are well acquainted with our communities and can inform about comparable values of other homes, access to schools, churches, shopping, retail areas and more. I can also make suggestions for financing, inspections, appraisers and legal advice. This perspective can be invaluable in helping you make a decision.

Research the firm you are working with. Country Squire Realty belongs to the area's multiple listing service, we also belong to the local Board of Realtors, the New York State Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. Our resources and the products we offer are a cut above any in the area.

Work on an exclusive basis with your agent. Working on an exclusive basis does not limit what we can present and sell to you. As a seller we will make your home available to all licensed real estate agents. I will also place your property in the MLS, Realtor.com. In addition you will have our site on Globe Real Estate working for you. If you drive by a house that is of interest tell me and we’ll go see it.

It is not a good idea to work with multiple agents because no one will be able to learn what your needs and desires are.

If you are not getting results, consider changing associates. Although changing agents is not a good use of anyone’s time, under some circumstances it does make sense to change. For example if you have spent a week working intensively with an agent and still have not see a home that is not of interest to you, tell us what’s missing. If I still can’t do it I would be more than happy to refer you to another agent to your satisfaction without your feeling uncomfortable in any way. We are professionals and we want you to be satisfied.
